A project investigating the best options/benefits to provide electricity to rural propertiei in the McKinlay Shire to reduce their dependence on the current SWER lines and evaluate the potential of using renewable energy with associated battery storage.

With approximately 160 properties in the McKinlay Shire connected to the grid via criss-crossing SWER lines, there are on-going maintenance issues and periods where the system is out of action for a number of days. To improve the situation, renewable energy solutions will be examined and trialed.
